It is our belief that the more we help each other, the more we help ourselves. With this in mind, we have formed a community of filmmakers who team together in the pursuit of individual and shared artistic visions. This community is a place where any idea can be developed, nurtured and made real through the support of like-minded artists and thinkers. In sharing our resources, filmmaking skills and contacts, we aim to provide an arena in which all creative endeavors can be accomplished - without the endless cycle of waiting for approval that marks most of filmmaking today.

C4 was started by three NYU alumnae who moved to Los Angeles and quickly discovered that the majority of young filmmakers are kept waiting - waiting for a script to be greenlit, waiting to see if the right actor will commit, waiting to be approved as a director, etc...and all the while, time is ticking. Filmmaking may be more of a marathon than a sprint, but you can still lose by being kept waiting at the gate. We feel that a good dose of impatience or do-or-die attitude is
necessary for all filmmakers. |

Under the C4 production model, one which all members of the collective have conceived together, there should be no limits to the type of work created. Our mission is two-fold: to have a broad network of support, in which information, ideas, contacts and resources can be shared, and to form a production core for those who specifically want to make films and videos. With a serious commitment to the collaborative concept behind C4, each member will have the opportunity to make his/her own projects without having to wait for approval. |
